Background

The XQH Battle Station (XHB) is based off the XQ Platform Series (specifically the XQ5 Platform) and is technically an original design, however, its plans (and other XQ Platform designs) for development were stolen from Bengel Shipbuilders by the House of Royal Intelligence. Then, to cover their tracks, HRI destroyed all notes & records of the project and then further destroyed or sabotaged any plans, projects, or prototypes the company had to reverse its fortunes. This sabotage is widely considered to collapse the company, forcing it to be bought out by Tenloss Corporation. The thorough sabotage forced both Bengel & Tenloss to abandon the XQ Platform Series all together.

The cargo bays have been largely removed (except for military necessities) and the hanger bays have been extended into the extra space, providing increased starfighter and starship storage.

Uses

The XHB is designated as a Heavy (H) battle station, although the Guardian-class Battle Station is even heavier in the amount of weapons & armor. The station is for military use only and it should be further noted that the presence of a XHB is a clear warning sign to any unauthorized visitors that the Jod Military Forces has a keen interest in the area.

The Orbital Station & Deep Space Station Corps (ODS) uses it as a battle station, as well as protecting vital ground & space facilities, typically shipyards, drydocks (both planetary & orbital), and key Jod Military Sciences research locations, including XQL Space Stations & ground facilities. A handful of the XHBs are utilized within the Guardian Orbital Defensive System and the most important of the Major World's Joint Operations Planetary Defensive Networks, although a handful of the most important Minor Worlds in the Kingdom of Jod were blessed to have a single QXH in their orbit.

Characteristics

Designed & built by Jod Defense Engineering Shipwrights, the XHB is sold only to the Jod Military Forces. The hull is a double hull; the exterior second hull is designed with quadanium steel, while the interior first hull is designed with titanium-reinforced alusteel. The space station's structural frame is made with duramentium, giving the station a very durable design even without deflector shields. The station's deflector shields are excellent and it's premium primary power generator and two smaller auxiliary power generators provides the station with more than enough power for all operations.

The XHB is equipped with 9 Quad Turbolaser Cannons, 12 Quad Laser Cannons, and Chaff & Flares; a pair of laser cannons sat at the corner of each docking platform (6) and 1 Quad Turbolaser on the underbelly edge of each docking platform (3), while a Quad Turbolaser sat on top of each of the 3 hangers (3). Three more Quad Turbolaser Cannons were on the underside of the hub of the station (3), while six laser cannons (1 dorsal, 1 ventral on the protruding structure) were in between the docking platform arms on the main structure of the space station.

The XHB is equipped with top-of-the-line shuttles & starfighters, including 6 Delta-class JV-7 Escort Shuttles for travel & investigations paired with 12 hyperspace-capable BTL-S8 K-Wing Assault Starfighters (2 per shuttle) as long range heavy escort fighters. The K-Wings also double as bombers when needed by the station. 12 FAIR Raptor-class Fighters provide the station with hyperspace-capable reach for reconnaissance & long range patrol, while 24 Bounce Interceptors provide the station with local point-defense & patrol capabilities.

The station also has 9 PB-950 Patrol Boats (X-1X-2, and X-3 models) which it can use for defense or patrol. The patrol boats deploy 3 from each of the hangers, typically the station deploying 6 of the patrol boats in all vectors from the station in 6 patrol zones (top, bottom, left, right, forward, back). Three patrol boats typically remain docked inside the station to hide the station's true firepower and capabilities, as well as maintain them to rotate in and out with the other 6 patrol boats on a one month rotation.
