The Journey 791 Series is billed as an affordable light freighter & family starship in the Economy-class line of light freighters by The Starship Company, designed to be a people mover with style, and was marketed to the rich as a smaller and cheaper alternative to the larger M-2FD Interplanetary Military Transport's luxury kit built by CargoCorp Interplanetary Business Group. For both the working class family & the rich, the Journey 791 is a very popular compact starship, ranging from 40,000 Jod Coin Standard on the most basic model with a modular cargo insert on the bottom level to over 150,00 Jod Coin with the top-notch modular inserts and various other offered upgrades. Not designed for speed, but for durability, safety, and adaptability, the Journey 791 was the step in the right direction for any family or person looking to travel the galaxy, either on a budget or with an over-stuffed wallet.
Created as a double-decked starship, the bottom level housed a very modular design, which was able to be switched out for extended cargo space, a vehicle hanger for up to 2 landspeeders or 2 groundcars (or even a single small shuttle or single starfighter), as the bottom deck could be sealed off from the rest of the ship), or even could be upgraded with luxury in mind with a swimming pool, game hall, entertainment center, library, and wet alcohol bar. A combination of all these modular designs was also available, getting the best of each modular into one design. The top level, meanwhile, housed the cockpit, crew quarters for up to 3, guest quarters for up to 8, mess hall, and access to both the engines & escape pods.
Built to withstand punishment during long trips, the Journey 791 Series featured military-grade structural material typically used by Jod Defense Engineering Shipwrights, with the internal skeleton structure being constructed of duramentium & condensed-matter composite and the exterior hull being made of alusteel armor. Despite the starship's tough exterior, the light freighter is equipped with a value-rate Star Systems Package, which most buyers upgrade as soon as they can. While stock models come unarmed, the starships do have mounting brackets for future emplacements.
