Level 53

Level 53

Level 53 (or Deck 53) was considered the "Dungeon" on a Imperial Praetorian-class Star Destroyer Schematic. The very bottom and last inhabitable deck on an Imperial Praetorian-class Star Destroyer, the level was only a half-level in size. It was known as being one of the colder levels on the entire star destroyer, although not as cold as a gunnery turret would be (exposed on top of the armored hull of the warship). Regardless, most people wore heavier clothing and had warm drinks on standby, although most of these measures weren't needed some of the time, as Level 53 was also identified as a workshop (Engineering Reserve Parts, Storage, & Workshop---"ERPS & W") and those working in there in a machinist role could generate their own suitable heat to stay warm.

Despite its identifications as a workshop, Level 53 was seldom used and instead was used as its first half of its identification would indicate: as a reserve parts & storage area. Because of its little use, keypad coded access, and generally little knowledge of its existence by most crew even, The Dark Card group set up shop in Level 53 aboard the Darkest Night.

Level 53 C, starboard of star destroyer

Level 53 can be divided into Level 53 A, Level 53 B, Level 53 C, Level 53 D (accessed via a floor door and stairs under it in the central part of the level, in between the work station tables), and Level 53 E. Each letter represents rear (A), port (B), starboard (C), below (D), and bow/exit/entrance (E). In between these five sections is a large open work space with 12 work station tables with under table cabinet storage provided under each and 6 robotic arms with various attached tools dangling from the ceiling (a control box for each of the arms in situated on each of the 4 sides of the rectangular tables, with each box able to lock a specific arm or arms for use to prevent other control boxes at the same table from using them); each table is large enough to hold up to 12 74-Z Speeder Bikes, for size comparison. Along the walls of the whole level is massive storage cabinets along the walls, holding various parts, tools, and various metals, armored plating, and tubbing that can be crafted into something to replace something else. In between each of these massive storage cabinets---roughly in the middle---are work stations along the walls with computers & desks (pictured as Level 53 A, B, C, D, or E). While there is no direct turbolift access to the level, the blast doors leading out of Level 53 (Level 53 E) do lead to a cargo lift and a separate turbolift, which can take assembled pieces, parts, and equipment wherever to the Star Destroyer.

Level 53 (5)

Level 53 D, under the floor and access via a floor hatch and stairs under it. Located in the central part of Level 53, it is considered the "office" of the level. It is here where The Dark Card group keeps any sensitive documents, well hidden away in secret compartments built into the office.

Level 53 (6)

Level 53 E, leading out of the level and to the rest of the star destroyer.
